Dr .B. Poongodi, Associate Professor, KCT Business School jointly with Prof. Dr. G. Ramakrishan (1st patentee) , Department of Fashion Technology, KCT and Prof. Dr. C. Velmurugan, HoD, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Dr. Mohamed Zakriya were granted the patent on “Modified Jacquard for Handlooms” on May 13, 2024. This patent is a sequel to the team’s earlier patent on “Low Weight Jacquard Hooks for Handlooms”. This invention with Patent No. 537756 was granted by The Patent Office, Government of India, from March 1, 2019, for a term of 20 years.
