Dr. Poongodi B, Associate Professor – Marketing, KCT Business School is involved as a Co-Investigator in the project titled “Development and Application of Natural Dyes for reviving handloom and human wellness” funded by AICTE – Indian Knowledge Systems. The initial phase involves the study of socio-economic status of handloom dyers. The team consisting of Principal Investigator, Co-Investigators, Research Associate, students from KCT Business School and Fashion Technology conducted personal interview with the handloom dyers of Pollachi with the help of a semi-structured questionnaire . The team visited Pollachi, Negamum cotton hank, Ikkat dyeing clusters on 21st April 2023 and Sadhumugai Silk Dyeing Cluster, Sathyamangalam on 19 June 2023. Ms.Boomika P (22MBA191) and Ms.Vinothini B (22MBA174) from KCTBS coordinated the survey in the capacity of Student Coordinators, The Centre for Weavers, Kumaraguru Institutions.
