The lecture titled “Popular Research Methods in Social Science Research” by Prof. Udah aimed to provide an insightful exploration of widely adopted research methodologies in the field of social sciences. The primary objective is to equip students and researchers with a clear understanding of the tools and approaches commonly used to investigate social phenomena, ensuring they can critically select and apply appropriate methods in their work. 

The lecture started with an overview of the foundational principles of social science research, emphasizing the importance of systematic inquiry in understanding human behavior, societal trends, and institutional dynamics, quantitative, qualitative methods. Prof. Udah highlighted the diversity of research paradigms, such as qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods, discussing their philosophical underpinnings and practical applications.  Additionally, the lecture delved into data collection techniques like interviews, focus groups, observation, and secondary data analysis, showcasing their relevance in addressing different research questions. 

Prof. Udah also addressed the ethical considerations and challenges associated with social science research, underscoring the importance of rigor and reflexivity. By the end of the lecture, participants were expected to gain a robust framework for designing and conducting impactful social science research tailored to their unique interests.
