Guest Lecture on “Risk Management in Projects” by Mr Senthilvel J, PMP, Head – Technical at mySkills Academy, Coimbatore on May 16, 2024.

The KCT Business School hosted a guest
lecture titled “Essential Skills for Aspiring Project Managers: A
Comprehensive Guide” on May 6th, 2024, for MBA PM I-year students. The
event commenced with a welcome address that outlined the importance of project
management skills in today’s job market and the benefits students would gain
from the lecture. Mr. Saravanan, Project Manager at Ramco Industrial and
Service Limited, Chennai, was the resource person. Mr. Saravanan began by
laying the groundwork for project management, emphasising its significance in
the contemporary world. He discussed various career opportunities available to
project managers. The lecture delved into the essential skills required for
project management success, including core competencies and additional areas
like risk management and stakeholder engagement. Mr. Saravanan shared practical
examples and case studies to illustrate successful project management
practices. He touched upon the influence of technology on project management. A
brief discussion on the future of project management was included. Mr.
Saravanan concluded by providing valuable resources for further learning in
project management, including certifications and online courses. A dedicated
Q&A session followed the lecture, allowing students to clarify any doubts
