Archon (Best Manager) event organized and conducted to evaluate the Leadership and managerial skills of the participants on February 9, 2017. Each round was framed accordingly, namely pen & paper, video podium, juggle and kill bill. There were totally 126 participants from various colleges and among them the Best Manager title was won by Mr. N.Hariharasudan of PA College of Engineering & Technology and the runner up was won by Mr. Pranav Kumar of The TIPS Global Institute Of Technology. Workshop on Introduction to Design Thinking
The workshop on design thinking was conducted on February 9, 2017. It was facilitated by Dr. B L Lakshmi Meera, Assistant Professor, CoE with the concept of bringing out new innovation ideas by understanding the need of the customer rather than just making it out. The different phases of how a final product can be made were explained through an activity with the students. About 74 students from various colleges participated. The Corporate Gala’s was organized on February 10, 2017 and about 39 teams from various colleges in and around Coimbatore registered for the event from both UG and PG levels. Each team consisted of minimum three members and maximum four members. The first round conducted by Mr Nikil Adhitya was all about solving the puzzle within 10 minutes time. About 16 teams got shortlisted for the next round. The second round was Just 30 Minute conducted by Mr John Jeyasingh. The participants had to collect their clues fill the answers and stick the newspaper bits associated with it. Eight teams got shortlisted to the next round. The third round was Channel Switch, were the participants were given four channels and five minutes of time to prepare and enact before judges. When judges say the channel name the participants have to switch from the current channel. This was conducted by Ms Hemapriya. The final round was Merger. The participants had to innovate a new product by merging any two corporate giants. The winner of this event was Mr.Sai Ashwanth & team, Sri Krishna College of Engineering and runner was Ms. Rohita & Team from GRG School of Management Studies.This round was conducted by Ms Lathika. The last two rounds were judged by Ms Deepa M and Latha A, Assistant Professors. The event was coordinated by Mr. Gokul C and team
Live Market Mania
In the marketing event, Live Market Mania was conducted on February 11, 2017, 55 teams participated. First round was logo interpretation. The second round was Ludo game with quiz. In the final round a product was given and within an hour they should create an advertisement with a unique name, slogan and Jingles. Overall the event was loaded with Fun and Knowledge. Winners were, Valliappan and Team, Sri Shakthi Engineering College followed on by Subikshan and Team, Bannari Amman College. The event was coordinated by Mr. Praveen S and team
Bid-a-Thon was conducted on February 11, 2017. Participants included students from colleges like PSG Tech, Hindustan, BITS, CIMAT, SKCET, CIT. Prelims was conducted in three phases where teams were tested on their knowledge about IPL and its franchisee. It was conducted to test their statistical knowledge. Team from PSG Tech led by Mr.Naveen scored 170 which was the highest among the all 36 teams. Top 10 teams were shortlisted to participate in the final bidding round. Initial purse value of 50crore was given from which they were asked to pick their franchisee and 11 players. Teams competed with each other for picking the best players. At the end Mr.Suriya Narayanan and team from PSGCAS secured the maximum team value of 20600 and secured the first spot, followed by Mr.Naveen and team from PSG Tech.
