Training was organized by Dr Ramakrishnan TIFAC CORE, Dr. B. Poongodi , KCT.BS and Dr. Velmurugan, Dept of Mechanical Engineering on November 19, 2018 at Handloom Field study Center, Chinna Aranmanai, Samathur, Pollachi Taluk. Handloom Weavers of Samathur block underwent a two day training program funded by GoI – DST SEED TIASN on “Branding Handloom Products for the Global Market” & “Leveraging Social Media for Effective Reach”. These sessions were handled by. A. Latha and Dr. P. Nalini, Assistant Professors, Center of Marketing, KCT Business School. The trainers shared practical insights on the marketing topics which exposed the weavers to the contemporary marketing practices.
The second day of the training program was organized in the CADD Lab, Department of Mechanical Engineering, KCT where weavers were trained on Email Transactions, Word Processor, E-Commerce Trading and Diverse Products. Dr.Jalaja Jayalakshmi, Assistant Professor, Dept of Computer Applications, Mr. Mohammed Zakriah, JRF, DST – SEED Project, Dr.G.Ramakrishnan, Professor, Dept of Fashion Technology trained the weavers. In another session Dr. B. POONGODI, Assistant Professor., KCT Business School and Co Principal Investigator oriented Samathur Handloom Weavers on Entrepreneurship . Dr.B.Poongodi also assisted the weaver trainees to understand basics of word processor along with the resource persons from Science and Humanities department. The training was organized by Dr.G.Ramakrishnan Principal Investigator, Dr.B.Poongodi and Dr. C.Velmurugan Co- Principal Investigators, Mr.Mohammed Zakriah, JRF of the DST-SEED-TIASN project on November 19 & 20, 2018.
