Practical Data Science using Tableau
Tableau is emerging as one of the up-to-the-minute trends in the Business Intelligence market. The Data Visualization tool has been gaining attractiveness in various industries and hence, the demand for Tableau experts in on the surge. A workshop on Practical Data Science using Tableau was organized from January 4-10, 2021. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Dhinesh Kumar SK, Project Lead, Lantrasoft, Coimbatore. If information is what is needed for business, data is what is needed to do analytics. The purpose of data analysis is to gain insights, data is more appreciated when it is visualized. Without data visualization, an analyst can have insights, but it cannot be communicated properly. Through 20 long hours, this workshop started with an introduction to Tableau by giving us a perception for data and its visualization. Emphasis was placed on the skills that exemplify business data analysts- ability to communicate practical implications of quantitative analyses to any kind of audience. This was dealt with appropriately in the forthcoming sessions as participants ventured to learn the basic charts and their implementation. Various cases were envisaged using the charts like a bar chart, piechart etc. The workshop was well attended by 86 participants comprising of students, faculty from various institutions, Research & Industry experts. The program was coordinated by Student coordinators, Arunthathi K & Devi M (Batch 2019-21). The program was organized by Mr. Vivek Raj SN , Assistant Professor, Analytics & Dr. Nedunchezhian VR, Professor Finance.
