Dr. B.Poongodi, Assistant Professor, KCT Business School, Dr.G.Ramakrishnan, Professor and Head, Department of Fashion Technology, Niveda R, Research Associate and Gowtham S Research Associate, Re’-NFRC attended the National Conference on “Value Addition to Crop Residues of Natural Fibres at Indian Council of Agricultural Research – Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology, Mumbai held on December 4, 2019. A paper on Kenaf – A promising way into Sustainable Textile Business and Environment ” was presented in the technical Session on Industrial and Textile Application of Natural Fibres & Residues. The paper covered the cultivation practices, properties of kenaf-cotton blend yarn, fabric, economic uses of Kenaf leaves, seeds and flowers with least crop residues. The session was chaired by Dr.R.P. Nachane, President, Indian Fibre Society. Shri.Suresh Kotak, Chairman, Kotak & Co. Pvt. Limited presided over the conference and Dr.B.M. Khadi, Former Director of Research, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharward was the Guest of Honour. Participants from Textile Industry and researchers in Natural Fibres across the country presented and participated in the conference.
