A talk on Legal Aspects in Internet Marketing – Global Perspectives by Ms. Suganthi Nadar, Attorney, CEO of Tamil Unlimited, USA was organized on May 26, 2021 for 54 of I MBA (Batch 2020-22) Marketing students. Ms. Suganthi opened the session by explaining the eco system of the legal framework around the globe. She started the session with a question to the student and explained internet marketing, advertisement, content providers. She cited real time example that happened with one of the biggest retail stores that paved the way to legal set up of data privacy. She listed that the legal issues could arise in Human Interaction, Human Right, Criminal Activity, Data Usage, Bit Coin Regulations and AI Regulations. She deliberated on the Major e-commerce companies like Google, Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, Flipkart, Alibaba and explained the current landscape of the laws available in USA, India, and Europe. She advised that marketers should be aware of the terminologies – Copyright, Trademark, Patent, Privacy, Misinformation, hoax, spam, junk, cyber security, and sovereignty The event was coordinated by Dr, Poongodi B, Assistant Professor, Marketing.
