In 2021, it was decided that Social Immersion Project in KCTBS, a 6-credit paper must demonstrate and achieve 2 major goals – Sustainability and Creating a significant impact on society.
Based on the above framework, the following objectives were set:
- In line with United Nations Sustainability development goals, a step by KCT towards the UN vision of Peace, Dignity and Equality.
- KCT Business School to identify a Tribal Village with pressing needs and initiate actions towards their betterment.
- Sensitize KCT – BS students towards ground-level realities, inculcate social responsibilities, and expose them to responsible management projects as future thought leaders.
With the above objective in mind, KCT BS has adopted a Village called “Kallar Pudhur”, Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu which consists of a Tribal community called “Irulas”.
179, 2nd-year year MBA students have formed into 13 groups and have conducted a study on the pressing needs of the people living there. They also developed novel solutions for those needs in April 2022.
