Rear Admiral V.Mohandoss (Retd), Director Defence Programs, Kumaraguru Centre for Industrial Research and Innovation, Coimbatore facilitated the orientation part of the workshop on “Industry Research in Defence Sector” . He addressed the I year MBA students of the General and Project Management Programs on the research opportunities in Defence Sector. He explained how defence sector is contributing to the nation’s security and explained the specific contributions of Army, Navy and Airforce in this. The Workshop’s first part was organised on 7th March 2023, 9.00 am at LT 1. The student coordinator I MBA gave a warm welcome and set the context for the session. The resource person-oriented the first MBAs about the Coimbatore Defence Corridor project and the research opportunity for the I MBA students to take up a study among the MSMEs. He demonstrated through videos the role of Indian Army in various wars and the support given to other countries. The workshop was attended by 100 students from I MBA GM & PM. Dr.B.Poongodi, Dr.A.Latha, Dr.S.Jaisankar and Dr. Vivekraj SN of KCT Business School and a faculty team from KC.IRI attended the workshop.  The speech was insightful for the students to understand their role in the research-driven defence industry of the future. A key part of the workshop involves questionnaire designing led by Dr.A.Latha & Dr.B.Poongodi along with Mr.U.K.Praveen, KC.IRI; data collection from MSMEs through personal interviews, analysis and report documentation.
