Guest lecture on Evolution of Corporate Strategy by Mr Raja Selvam, Assistant Director, Strategy & Transactions, Ernst & Young Global Business Services India LLP on December 13, 2022.
An online Guest Lecture was organized from 7.30 to 8.35 PM on Tuesday, Dec 13, 2022, for the second-year MBA students of the Strategic Management core course by Dr K.R.Senthilvelkumar, Professor, KCT.BS.. Mr. Raja Selvam, Asst. Director – Strategy & Transactions, Ernst & Young Global Business Services India LLP, urged the students to be prepared for corporate strategy formulation, as it is as much from the bottom up as it is from the top down. He explained how several large companies which were once successful disappeared from the market, as they did not care to formulate effective corporate strategies focusing on the future. He added that a basic framework like Porter’s Five Forces Model will be useful for students in effectively analyzing a company from any industry and in helping them understand the available strategic options. Mr Raja Selvam answered the queries related to the alignment of corporate strategies with business and functional level strategies subsequently and advised students to develop the habit of reading non-fiction books to become ready for their future career roles. The Online Guest Lecture on ‘Evolution of Corporate Strategy’ enabled MBA students to understand the importance of devising the right corporate strategies at the right time to sustain business success and achieve further growth. Also, comprehend the real-life application of strategic management concepts and how corporate strategies are formulated and implemented by organizations.
