Over 2000 candidates set to receive their degrees as part of KCT Graduation 2022
A total 2013 graduands which includes 1671 undergraduates and 342 postgraduates from the KCT batch of 2021 got their academic degrees as part of the Graduation ceremony organized in the Kumaraguru Institutions on Saturday (October 29, 2022). Students received their BE, BTech, ME, MTech, MBA and MCA degrees as part of the graduation ceremony held at the college auditorium in the Kumaraguru campus.
The graduation ceremony commenced in three sessions throughout the day. The first & second sessions are from morning to afternoon for undergraduate and postgraduate students of all engineering departments. Student from the MBA and MCA batch received their degrees in the third session which started at evening 5 PM. From a total of 180 students in the MBA Batch of 2021, 172 students graduated.
The graduation ceremony started with the welcome address by Shri Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions. Followed by him, D Saravanan, Principal, Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT) read out the college report comprising the institution’s achievements and plans for the near future. Following the chief guest address, candidates received their degrees.
Mr R Velusamy, President, Automotive Technology & Product Development, Mahindra and Mahindra Limited was the chief guest of the graduation ceremony for the morning session. The chief architect of the flagship mHawk diesel engine which powers many of the Mahindra SUVs, Mr Velusamy’s presence inspired many young minds graduating from the institution.
Dr S Christopher, Former Chairman, Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) handed over the degrees to the students as the chief guest for the afternoon session. Well known for his role as programme director and chief engineer of Airborne Early Warning and Control system (AWACS), his presence was a great source of inspiration for graduates.
