On April 26th 2017, KCT.BS hosted a full-day workshop entitled “Multivariate Analysis for Business Research” for the students of Batch 2016-18. A session of the program focusing on “Cluster Analysis” was facilitated by a guest speaker, Dr. S. Murugappan, Professor, School of Management Studies, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology. Dr. S. Murugappan opened his talk by a simple grouping exercise. The session continued with defining Cluster Analysis and Application of Cluster Analysis. Aptitude Training for I MBA (Batch 2016-18) was conducted by FACE (external training partner) during March – April 2017 for about 18 hrs to enhance the analytical and thinking skills of the students. Along with that regular weekly aptitude, practice sessions were scheduled by the peer students of each batch based on their expertise. Online sectional test and monthly practice test are being conducted regularly to crack the aptitude test which will be conducted during placement season. These sessions are coordinated by Dr. Gokilavani R, Lead Trainer.

A guest lecture was organized for I MBA students (Batch 2016-18) on the topic Current scenario and challenges in recruitment on March 13, 2017. The guest lecture was facilitated by Mr. Rohit, HR CareerNet, Chennai. The topics discussed included – Trends in Recruitments, Recruitment Process Outsourcing, Recruiting challenges HR professionals face and how to overcome them. Major project viva voce was conducted for students of II MBA (Batch 2015-17) on April 20, 2017. 170 students presented their project and corporate experience. Eight different external panel members from the different academic institution were part of the viva voce. The conduct of the viva voce was coordinated by Lakshmi Subbramani, Assistant Professor & Project Coordinator.

The Operations Forum for I MBA students (Batch 2016 -18) was conducted on April 21, 2017 to enable the students to learn the basics of operations management. The project management game was conducted to illustrate the project concepts by avoiding wastages and to reduce the rejections through optimization of resources. There were totally 6 teams in the class; each team had a project manager. The project manager had to predict the target and tell it before manufacturing of the given product. Knowledge Sharing K-Hive March 2017 K-hive team consists of six students ( Sharon Jennita V – B5, Sanjana P -B5, Siddharthan M – B5, Nachamai -B4, Paramaguru -B4, Balaji – B1 from the 2016-2018 batch) working under the guidance of Ms.Lakshmi Subbramani, Assistant Professor. K-hive is an initiative that endeavors to enrich KCT.BS students, on current affairs around the world. The session is conducted every Wednesday evening. This academic year four sessions were conducted, two of which were conducted by the team members of K-hive, the other two sessions were debate sessions.
