74th Republic Day
The 74th Republic Day celebrations started at Kumaraguru Institutions with the hoisting of the tricolour at The Orb by Shri Shankar Vanavarayar, Joint Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions.
In his Republic Day address, the Joint Correspondent stated that India’s journey of becoming great lies in the commitment, courage, creativity, and compassion shown by its youth as great nations are built when duties are performed well by its citizens.
He said, this year when the world leaders are wishing India for its republic, the country assumed leadership of G-20. A year when India becomes the 5th largest economy and when the world has started taking India more seriously.
“The world has seen India as a good and capable player. The good to great is the most difficult journey. It took us 70 years to be good but to be great in the next 15 or 20 years, it is going to be an enormous struggle,” he said.
For the first time, The Orb played the host for Republic Day Parade at Kumaraguru. Foot drill with specific themes by NCC cadets of Army Wing, Air Wing, and Army Wing – Girls set the tone for the day followed by a traditional dance and Yoga performance stealing the show.
Solar-powered campus utility vehicle developed by the Ré (Research cell of Kumaraguru Institutions) was the new entrant this year. Students also drove the E-Trike and Go-Kart during the event which reflected upon the research activities at the campus.
