KCT. BS rolled out the Finishing School Program on Career Readiness to help the students of II MBA (Batch 2017-19) to make the transition from one students to career a smooth one. has. As students they remain under cover in our shelter, but the corporate arena has a different agenda with its own risks and setbacks. The ethics, codes and behaviours are subtly different. This subtlety is a tough art to master. The Career Readiness Program brings in various industry experts and veterans to give a glimpse about the ‘know-how’s’ of the corporate world to the students.
On April 5, 2019, Mr.Illamurugu Vice President, HDFC Bank working with HDFC for 14 years. He moderated an interesting discussion on Campus to Career with Mr. Shree Kumar, Ms. Abinaya and Ms. Subashree alumni from 2015 – 2017 batch. Each of them elucidated their first experience with the industry and how they had to overcome the few setbacks they faced. Finally Mr.Illamurugu interactively took the session forward by answering few of the queries from the students’.
Dr.Swaminathan. S, Head Corporate Relations KCT. BS gave a glimpse of all the possible differences one could get to experience once on board with the corporates. The session enlightened the students on Time & Change Management. Mr.SriRam, Vice President HR, Robert Bosch addressed the students on Corporate Ethics. It was an interactive session where, he presented real life instances from his work experiences. He reiterated that his work ethics has become a part of his life. Mr.Senthil Kumar, CEO of Helikx Open School spoke on the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility. He elucidated on the special school run by him for a noble cause. Mr. Srinivas Shastri Group HR of KCT, and Sakthi group started off the session with an interesting task and also shed light on the amazing practice of asking ‘why’ before doing anything. He explained about how he began his career as an MBA graduate and how he had come thus far. He gave the students a wonderful take away of 5 I’s they had to follow in their career. He finished off by instilling a practice of jotting down every little task for the day that comes their way.
The second day’s session began with a session on Competencies in Career by Mr.Ganesh , CMO, Pricol . His session focussed more on the competencies one had to possess at workplace. There was an amazing take away from his session that, one had to keep learning continuously in their career to stay relevant. Mr.Venkatesh, HR Business Partner and a consultant by profession addressed the students about networking in workplace by. His session described about the importance of maintaining an amazing network at work place for a healthy professional life. He elucidated on the importance of creating, managing and maintaining a healthy and a professional network. Dr. Kirupa Priyadarsini M, Associate Professor & Centre Head, KCT BS spoke to the students on the importance of goal setting. Her session was filled with insights about how goal setting can take us to greater altitudes if dealt with utmost care. It was a thoroughly informative session which focussed on developing, following and achieving sustainable goals for professional progress.
