KCT Business School(KCT.BS) was established in 2005 as a constituent department of Kumaraguru College of Technology. KCT.BS places heavy emphasis on experiential and process oriented learning and the pedagogical tools include extensive use of case studies, simulation exercises and industry oriented projects. The academic curriculum of KCT.BS is closely intertwined with the Industry. KCT.BS is associated with many corporates in designing and delivering need based diploma and short term training programs. KCT.BS also works closely with reputed Universities and academia across the countries like Israel and New Zealand.

BUSINESS CONSULTING USING MARKET RESEARCH
Coimbatore is the second largest city by area and population in the state after Chennai. It is one of the fastest growing tier-II cities in India and a major industrial hub in South India. The firms in Coimbatore and nearby districts are witnessing new market opportunities arising from positive economic development backed up by the governmental initiatives like Make in India and Start Up India. Coupled with positive momentum in the economy, many companies are looking for quantum business growth. This will come either from understanding existing customers better or from attracting newer customers. This will also mean large investments in capability building in the areas of Digital and Technology, Innovation, Training and Development, Process improvement, Market Research and Marketing Analytics. The last two areas i.e. market research and marketing analytics will form the cornerstone in obtaining consumer insights – driven by both primary and secondary data. There is high potential to help the company in getting the market data and also consult them in analyzing the data and support them with new marketing plans. The workshop will emphasize on the role of the consultancy services and the scope it has to offer to the industry.

SCOPE
This program will enhance and will bring gradual enhancement of required competency skills, the nuances of client interface, how to effectively communicate with clients and also within the organization over the tenure of the consulting period, closing the consulting and evaluating performance for the faculty.

• How to identify potential consulting assignments in marketing
• Developing winning proposals for consulting assignments
• Effective and high quality execution of consulting assignments
• Report preparation and presentation as required by industry

PEDAGOGY
Each session will be interactive, participatory and includes readiness and reinforcement activities. The training is so designed that every trainee can absorb the content in their own method. Presentation, Group Work, Lectures, Discussions, Real-time Consulting cases and interactions help imbibe the requisite skills and role plays, simulations, activities, exercises help simulate the environment for the learners to experience the concepts that are presented.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES
After completion of the FDP the faculty in marketing stream will be able to
• Tap the consulting assignments, particularly in the field of marketing
• Develop relevant and appropriate proposals tailored to the requirements of the company
• Understand the effective ways to execute the projects both in time and resources.
• Drafting a high quality report which meet the industry standards.

ACCOMMODATION FACILITY

Prof.G.K.Suresh, Head-Strategic Partnerships & Head-Marketing Centre-KCT Business School
G. K. Suresh has over 22 years of Corporate experience with ITC Limited. His last assignment was as Vice President, New Category Development with the Foods Business where he oversaw the launch of Fabelle Chocolates and Sunbean Coffee. Earlier he was the VP-Marketing & also responsible for Marketing Services – Media, Research, Modern Trade, Packaging& Exports. Prior to that that he was Head – Brands and Business Development with the Personal Care business where he oversaw the launches of Fiama Di Wills &Vivel across the categories of Soaps, Shampoos, Deodorants and Talks .In May 2017, GK left ITC to pursue his long time passion of teaching. He is currently with Kumaraguru College of Technology Business School ( KCTBS ) as Head – Strategic Partnerships overseeing industry interactions and also heads the Marketing Centre.

Dr. V.Kaarthiekheyan -Associate professor-– Marketing Centre-KCT Business School
Holding Masters’ degree in Commerce and Management, Prof. V.Kaarthiekheyan specializes and places himself in the areas of International Business and Applied marketing. His teaching assignment includes courses on International Business, Service Marketing and Retail Management. Possessing tenure of 15 years in teaching and industry, Prof. V.Kaarthiekheyan is continuously committed to develop his expertise in funded projects, Industry Institute interaction programmes and consultancy assignments etc. Currently, he is also networked with various health NGO’s for health marketing ventures across the state.

Dr. S.Jaisankar, Associate professor – Operations -KCT Business School
S. Jaisankar is Associate Professor in KCT Business School, Coimbatore. He is a Lean Consultant – EDII, Chennai and has conducted training programs on Lean Manufacturing and Quality Management. A Mechanical Engineer with a Doctorate in Lean Manufacturing Practices awarded by Anna University, Chennai and also completed his MBA in operations management. Has 18 years of academic an 6 years of industry experience. He has published books on Lean Practices, Business Statistics, and Operations Research. A Lean Six Sigma Green Belt holder and a Lean Plus certified professional. His areas of interest are Supply Chain Management, Project Management and Technology Management.

Dr. B.Poongodi, Assistant Professor in Centre for Marketing, KCT Business School
Dr.B.Poongodi holds a Bachelors in Agriculture, Masters in Business Administration, a doctoral degree in Management and an International Diploma in Agribusiness Management. She has an industrial experience of 3 years in Project Management and Healthcare Administration. She joined the academics as Assistant Professor in Management in 2004. Since then she has taken up corporate consultancy assignments in marketing research, customer surveys, market potential studies for Technicon Services, Carex Services – Channel partners of Wipro GE, Reliance Foundation – Information Services and Ranjan Medicals. She is presently the Co – Principal Investigator for a funded project by Government of India, DST – SEED. She has coordinated a one year CBP for Agripreneurs and a MDP for the Marketing Fraternity.

Ms. A.Latha, Assistant Professor in Centre for Marketing, KCT Business School
Ms.A.Latha has 14 year s of Experience in academics and Industry. She facilitates subjects in the area of marketing domain. She has co authored & published a book titled “Business statistics using Excel”. She has executed Marketing Research consultancy assignment on “Brand Association of Wedding Silk Garments” for Chennai Silks. The project identified top leading retails store brands for selling wedding garments and also described the unique store attributes that the customers associate with leading retail outlets. Presently she is also involved executing one more consultancy project for Sakthi finance financial services limited. Understanding the customer perception and assessing market penetration of safety locker services for SFSL and competing brands at Vadavalli and nearby area is the basic objective of the study.

Dr. P.Nalini MBA, Assistant Professor in Centre for Marketing, KCT Business School
Dr. P. Nalini is Assistant Professor in Centre for Marketing, KCT Business School. Has completed her MBA with University Rank and her doctoral research from Anna University Chennai, She has completed her FDPM(IIM-I). Her interest areas are Marketing Research, Services Marketing, Digital marketing, Green Marketing and B2C business models; contributed articles and publications in management journals, both in National and International levels Her contribution includes publications National and in international journals with Scopus. She has presented her research papers and case studies in reputed forums like IIM Amedabad, IIM Indore, Bits Pillani, Nirama University, AIMA, ICBM and in many state and Central Universities., Prof. Nalini is continuously committed to develop her expertise in funded projects, Industry Institute interaction programmes and consultancy assignments etc. she worked for various projects for Roots, Safs, ITC(ongoing).
